DePuy hip recall lawsuits allege that Johnson & Johnson was negligent in designing, manufacturing, and marketing ASR hip implants and failing to properly warn patients and doctors of problems with the hip replacement system.

DePuy Orthopaedics issued a recall for their defective hip implants on Aug. 26, 2010. Now, they are attempting to get victims to sign a release form to turn over their medical records which DePuy can then use against them in court.

DePuy is blaming innocent victims of its defective hip implants for causing their own injuries and it may be recording conversations with patients to use against them.

A study completed in the United Kingdom showed a large number of DePuy ASR Hip Replacement Systems experienced failure within the first five years of operation, and was the basis for the DePuy hip recall.
